FeedBurner Offers Pro Features for Free

Google’s recently bought RSS manager FeedBurner has started offering its Pro features, which you had to pay for before, for zero dollars. These include detailed stats about your feed usage as well as better branding of your feed (you don’t have to use a feeds.feedburner.com/feedname address anymore; you can change it to something more to your liking).

I guess these are the perks of being bought by a big company with deep pockets who can make such decisions. I like to see Google once again giving away free stuff instead of trying to quickly capitalize on its new asset.

Oh yeah, if you were wondering, our feed is still located here: feeds.feedburner.com/FranticIndustries

I think that is a no-brainer for Google, the more they give away the more users the attract. Eventually they will make money via Adsense for feeds. That’s going to translate into more money rather than subscription fees.
