The holidays are a good time to introduce some updates and new features on FranticIndustries, as well as point out to some updates currently in the works.
The amount of products, services and companies reviewed at FranticIndustries has grown too big to be in the sidebar. Thus, the “Reviews & Profiles” section now shows only the latest 20 profiled products.
However, to give our readers an easy way to browse through the now formidable FI archive, we’ve created a new page, available in the top menu - the Directory. This is a categorized overview of the Web 2.0 world through the filter of FranticIndustries. Instead of directly linking to products and companies, all the links lead to the related articles at FranticIndustries. It’s a great knowledge base not only for readers of FI, but for anyone who needs to find information about a web service, product, or company.
Let’s move on. Widgets are in fashion, so if you want to display content from FranticIndustries on your blog, use this widget, and add http://feeds.feedburner.com/Franticindustries as RSS feed.
Now, for some milestones. FranticIndustries has reached Technorati rank of 3000, half a million pageviews since the move to the new domain in December 2006., and an average of 80.000 monthly visits in the same period. We have over 1100 RSS subscribers (and growing at a fast rate), and over 300 articles as well as over 1000 comments in the archive. It’s been quite a fantastic ride, and I can only hope for the same progress rate in the future.
I would also like to point out the advertising options on FranticIndustries. An ad on this site is a great way to catch the attention of IT professionals & journalists, experienced computer users interested in new technologies and Web 2.0, as well as people looking for web-based solutions to everyday problems. We often offer special deals for web startups, so if you fall into this category, make sure to contact us. To learn more about the advertising options, please visit the Advertise page.
Furthermore, there’s a Job Board (powered by Krop) at the bottom of the sidebar. It is completely functional right off the bat - you can browse, read detailed descriptions and apply for jobs directly from the sidebar. You can also post jobs if you’re in need of a creative/design/IT professional.
Finally, a look ahead: some cool things are brewing in the very near future. Four new projects are in the works, some under the roof of Frantic Network (site launching soon), some as separate projects, and one biggie which will be realized in collaboration with my good friends from the social media space. Stay tuned.
