Omid Rahmat, CEO of Tom’s Publishing LLC, has confirmed the recent rumors on the acquisition of TG Publishing, the publisher of popular hardware news & reviews website, Tom’s Hardware Guide. In a letter to the Inquirer, Rahmat has confirmed only this one essential point, refusing to give details on the price.

However, the rumor mill is working, and currently the consensus is that TG Publishing has been sold for a sum of between $15 million to $20 million. The buyer is unknown, but PaidContent has thrown in a possible name for good measure - French B2B tech media company BestofMedia Group.

Tom’s Hardware is one of the biggest hardware sites out there, known for its in-depth reviews and occasional accusations of bias - which happen to all big hardware sites, anyway.
