So, AOL finally decides to put the wow.com domain name - which they’ve owned since 1998 - to good use. They’ll create a World of Warcraft social network out of it. Such a good idea, right?
The only thing I can think about this new social network - which isn’t really online yet - is this:
How the hell didn’t they come up with this sooner?
With Blizzard sending all those milestones every couple of months since WoW went online - 1 million users - 5 million users - 10 million users - you’d think that someone who owns wow.com would do something with the domain. But only now, after two years of WoW craze, someone at AOL came to this brilliant idea.
Note to AOL execs: put someone who has a clue in charge of your domain properties. Perhaps next time you won’t be 2 years late.
