No Good TV - when television goes evil
When a guy like Gene Simmons of Kiss fame sits on the board of directors of a company, you know it has to rock. NGTV (No Good TV) is an online video content provider, web based like YouTube but with professionally produced content like Joost. It has a niche twist, though - it’s mostly based on music, youth underground culture, rockstars who like to say bad words a lot - everything that young folks love.
Names of channels like “Cool Crap” and “The Money Shot”, and animated presenters like Cock and Beaver (as in animals rooster and beaver) should be enough to grasp what NGTV is all about. Suffice to say that in the hour I’ve spent with NGTV I’ve seen more tits and ass than my brain can process.
The chaotic and sometimes slow UI will annoy some but it will probably feel quite natural to those used to the chaos that is MTV. The videos can be embedded elsewhere, but we haven’t found a way to see them in fullscreen, which is a big minus. Video quality is comparable to YouTube - Joost is still miles ahead in this department.
