FranticIndustries Netvibes universe - and 5 other cool ones!
Yes, the time has come: FranticIndustries now has its own Netvibes Universe. Netvibes Universes are custom made Netvibes pages, filled with information related to a certain subject; however they can be used just like any other Netvibes home page.
Every Universe has a special menu, which can be accessed by clicking on add/browse content, and then the blue icon. From there you can add the universe to your list, reset it to its default layout, or copy all the content to your private page. Not everyone can create their own universe just yet, but the folks at Netvibes say this feature is coming soon.
In the meantime, you can check the FranticIndustries Universe to see all my personal feeds in one place or to check out the blogs I really, really like. Or, you can simply use it because you like the design (you do like it, don’t you? Phew, I knew it).

If you’re craving for more, here are some suggestions. While working on the FI Universe, I’ve checked out all the other Universes in the Netvibes EcoSystem, and decided to quickly present some that I really like. Here they are in no particular order:
Deftones - I really like the ‘Tones, and their universe is quite a cool way of quickly gathering info about their tour and other endeavors.
Slate - all the Slate feeds in one place. I actually prefer reading it this way.
Tera Patrick - What? The girl has a Netvibes Universe, which means that she’s more Web 2.0-aware than most of the world. Mildly NSFW.
Wired - just like Slate mag, I like this layout of Wired’s content better than the original site.
Crave - Crave online has one of the sleekest Netvibes Universes. I definitely wouldn’t mind using that design on a regular basis.

[…] Netvibes, one of my favorite personalized portals, has announced they now have over 500 Netvibes Universes available. A Netvibes Universe is a customized, public personalized portal where you can find aggregated info on a certain subject. This customization includes an original header image and wallpaper, as well as many other details which cannot be changed on standard Netvibes pages. […]
