Yahoo! buys Bebo?

The acquisition rumor mill keeps grinding. This time, it’s Yahoo! buying Bebo, for a price of $1 billion. This is definitely not officially confirmed yet, but it’s not an illogical choice for Yahoo!: they did try to buy Facebook, and Bebo, which is among the top 100 most popular websites on the net according to Alexa, seems to be the next best thing.

In the vein of our recent article about corporate acquisitions and their consequences for the end users, this time we can say that all you Bebo users need not be afraid. Yahoo! has improved its acquisition policies in the recent years, and Bebo is way too big for Yahoo! to even try to alienate the userbase with stupid decisions.
