VideoJug.com - Life Explained On Film
How can I look more confident? How to remember people’s names. How to stop laughing at inappropriate times (this one’s a real treat; advice includes ‘try biting the side of your mouth,’ and ‘avoid eye contact at all costs; look at the floor’). These are just some of them gems featured at Videojug, the video tutorial site. This is basically like YouTube, but all the videos are instructional. There are videos on how to make cocktails, how to exercise your lower thighs, how to make pie, and the like.
Some of the videos, such as those mentioned above, are put together by team Videojug; they hire professionals to consult upon such manners as etiquette and behaviour; the result is sometimes remarkably hilarious, but also quite helpful. These videos come with captions and you can print out a text version of the video to use as a cribsheet later on. The normal comment, rate, and tag system is in place, and filters help you find the most popular, the newest, the most viewed, etc.
All films can be downloaded to portable devices like iPods and mobile phones; they may also be embedded to your blog, and emailed to friends across the world. You can even submit your own videos, provided that they are actually informative and useful. The site has recently gotten a whopping $30 million investment; so expect even more things to come.
In their own words:
“VideoJug is every aspect of life explained and illustrated through an
ever-growing number of helpful, informative and entertaining videos.
It’s like having an army of top-class experts at your fingertips 24/7
to “show you how” and to help you out. And you can contribute your own
knowledge, experience, wisdom and tips too. Covering relationships,
health, lifestyle, work, finance, fun and much more, VideoJug is the
complete visual guide to all human life. Whatever you want to know,
VideoJug has the answer. It’s a new way for you to see, and
understand, the world. It’s life explained, on film.”
