Delutube - watch videos removed from YouTube
Sometimes, people don’t like what they see on YouTube. Then they ask YouTube to remove the videos (or simply ban the site altogether). And YouTube complies. But, guess what? You can still see the removed videos.
A site called Delutube shows random videos that were removed from YouTube for this or that reason. The site often doesn’t work and it’s probably not going to last very long (especially if it’s based in some part of the world where GooTube can threaten with legal action). But, it still works, so this is a chance to check out the videos that YouTube doesn’t want you to see.
How do they do it? Well, when YouTube removes a video from the actual web site, they don’t always (or immediately) remove it from the servers. So, Delutube simply fetches the video directly from the server; hence the addresses look similar to this one: http://sjl-v52.sjl.youtube.com/get_video?video_id=eiken
Spending some time on Delutube can be rewarding, if for no other reason then to see why different video clips get removed from YouTube. Many times it’s hard to understand why a particular video was removed; for example, one of the removed videos was a recording from an orchestra rehearsal. In other cases, it’s obvious that the reason was nudity, copyright, or offensive content.

Has YouTube not decided to block access from Delutube, or changed where they are located or done something about it yet? Slightly weird that they let it happen. Nice website though.

Bull3t: they will probably do something about it soon. It’s fun while it lasts, though.

[…] Here’s an interesting site I came across from spotplex. Delutube randomly http://franticindustries.com/blog/2007/03/11/delutube-watch-videos-removed-from-youtube/. According to franticindustries, Delutube is not stable and most likely will not stay on Internet for long. While its still here, jump over Delutube and watch some videos you don’t see in YouTube. […]
