The era of ultra-expensive motherboards is upon us
We already know that the best nVidia has to offer in the motherboard area, n680i chipset based mobos, cost around $270. Reports say that motherboards which support AMD’s 4×4 technology will be even more expensive at $300.
The $300 number comes from Inquirer, so you might want to take it with a grain (pinch, bucket?) of salt. The number is considerably lower than some predicted, but it’s still a hefty sum to give away just for the motherboard.
To think that you also need to cash out for two dual core chips and four video cards…well, it makes my wallet hurt. I still remember when I bought my DFI nForce4 SLI motherboard, and gave over $170 for it, which seemed like a fortune at the time…
Of course, these products are aimed at hardcore enthusiasts, but it somehow it seems it’s always the highend motherboards which have the best support and stability, so everyone ends up using them anyway.

We decided to join the 21st Century with three new HD TVs from Amazon. All three are perfect for our needs, but the 52″ Samsung 750 was an excellent choice for our family room. After a month,we are still mesmerized by the quality of the picture…especially the vibrant colors. It’s amazing that Amazon can sell such a great product for the price they do, and for the fast delivery. We’re sold on Samsung…and Amazon!
